Very rare Wehrpaß to Honor Roll Clasp recipient Gefreiter Josef Sengthaler serving with Infanterie-Regiment 449. Sengthaler was awarded the Honor Roll Clasp on 30.8.1941.
Iron Cross 2nd Class and Infantry Assault Badge in silver awarded on 10.9.41 and 13.9.41.
1939 Iron Cross 1st Class awarded on 1.2.1942. Sengthaler was killed in action on 11.2.1941. We recon the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class was somehow posthumously awarded to match the award of the Honor Roll Clasp. This would explain that the entries are a little confuse. The Iron Cross 1st Class for example noted twice. Many entries would have been written in one go after he was killed before the Wehrpaß was sent home.
