Fabulous grouping to Leutnant Herbert Janke (1916 - 1942) serving as comander of 2./Grenadier-Regiment 59. All his belongings were stored in his WW2 period time officer's case and were never available on the market before. Jahnke was killed in action on 13.2.1942 in Russia serving with I./Grenadier-Regiment 59. His walking out tunic, dagger and documents stay at home when he served at the front.

Jahnke served as a Zugführer with Infanterie-Regiment 116 and was ordered as a company leader to Grenadier-Regiment 59 on 2.1.1942 to serve in the East. He was awarded the East Medal. the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Wound Badge in black.

Wooden transportation case with metal reinforcements. Pre 1945 named to "Jahnke, Jena" with large red letters. The letters were covered with paper which certainly can be removed easily with warm water. One leather carrying loop is missing.

Size: 75cm x 38cm x 38cm.

Certificate to the East Medal issued on 15.8.1942. It was posthumously shipped to his wife including a letter and the actual East Medal in bag. Complete sent with original envelope everything was shipped in. Documents were not folded

A "Kriegsweihnacht 1940-41" brochure of Infanterie-Regiment 116. Dedicated to Jahnke as a "Mitkämpfer" and signed by his company leader Leutnant Becker to commemorate the battle of Amiens-Saleux, France. Jahnke served as commander of the "1.Zug" in this company as it says on personal cards written by Becker.

Wehrpaß which was shipped to his wife after his death along with note of a Major. The Wehrpaß was issued on 6.6.1936. Awards and units noted as well as a list of his campaigns, training and promotion. Originally attached photo. Nice condition.

RAD membership ID. Interesting NSDAP membership booklet which was stamped "Ungültig" (invalid) after his death. There is a note that it was given to his wife as a remembrance. Excellent condition.

Untouched Heer officer's dagger by WKC. Maker marked to the clean blade. Nice, matching patina to all tombak metal parts. Originally attached officer's protepee. Nice, yellow color handle. Nice condition 2+
Matching hangers with minor corrosion. One catch broken.

Two Wound Badges in black. One first pattern example (awarded in France in 1940). Clearly worn Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon Two bronze Sport's Badges including a miniature. Two ribbon bars. One collar neck protection band.

Many WW2 period time Feldposter letters sent to Jahnke or from Jahnke including letters of comrades to his wife sent after his death. Many period time letters of condolence.

Excellent 4-pocket field tunic to Jahnke as a infantry Leutnant. Tailored by Fr. Schierhorn, Erfurt. Erfurt is very close to Jena, where Jahnke was from. Fine silk lining with attached tailor's tag. All insignia and buttons are 100% period time attached. The collar tabs were attached by machine, the breast eagle by hand. Breast eagle from excellent quality.

Loops for his ribbon bar and two badges which clear signs of wear and patina around it. You can actually clearly see that he had worn his 1st pattern (slightly larger) Wound Badge in black at the lower position loops.

Medium size. No moth damage. Very nice condition!
