Description

Untouched Heer field tunic for a Generalstab Major. The tunic turned up in Austria about 10 years ago and was sold by Klaus Butschek to a collector who is now our consignor.

The tunic was privately tailored from fine Italian gabardine around 1943/44. The insignia are 100% period time attached by hand. Rare Generalstab collar tabs. Matching Generalstab shoulder board in "Karmesinrot" color. Hand-embroidered breast eagle with minor moth damage to the green cloth backing.

There is a "Wiebak" (Vienna) tailor's label attached to the silk lining. All buttons are originally attached and come with full factory color.

A four place ribbon bar was attached to the tunic without loops. Rare tunic in very nice condition. Moth don't like Italian gabardine which is why there is only damage to the silk lining and the breast eagle.

Medium size. Condition 2.
