Description

Heer M36 field tunic for an infantry Gefreiter. The tunic comes with originally attached collar tabs. The tabs are the correct early infantry patterns and were attached by machine. The EM/NCO machine-woven breast eagle is postwar attached by hand. The shoulder boards are correct M36 slip-on boards. Hand-attached Gefreiter rank chevron.

Original attached Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon with clear signs of wear. Loops for one award. Another award, possibly an Iron Cross 1st Class, was just pinned through the fabric as there was a Close Combat Clasp or ribbon bar.

All buttons are complete but only a few are originally attached. The cotton lining shows an ink maker's mark to the field dressing pocket. The field dressing is still inside. The stamp is unreadable, however, the tunic has quite characteristic large size belt hook holes so specialists might be able to tell the maker.

Four repaired holes to the back. Slightly moth damaged to the bottom front. Signs of wear and age.
