Fantastic early war M38 Luftwaffe helmet which was only issued to Fallschirmjäger troops. The helmet comes with roughly 90% of its original factory paint and a single decal attached. The shell shows some wear and probably had a cloth cover or a band attached since the decal shows wear as well and is not too crisp anymore. The helmet was certainly never overpainted and comes in untouched condition.
It has its original attached leather liner inside and has a first pattern chin strap attached. Both, strap and liner is still very soft. The lining shows one crack and serious signs of wear. The chin strap is actually very nice!
The shell is "254" lot numbered and ET66 maker marked and size stamped.The bolts are certainly period time attached.
A very nice example of a rare helmet in good condition 2.
