Description

An extremely rare NPEA Student's Dagger made by Karl Burgsmüller, Berlin. Worn by students of the National Political Institutes of Education "NPEA" based in Wien-Theresianum. So-called "NAPOLA".

The blade comes with the etched motto "Mehr sein als scheinen." (Be more than you seem to be) and "Karl Burgsmüller, Berlin" maker marked. Slight pitting.

Brown wooden handle, similarly designed as a SA Dagger, however, without emblems. No chipping. Nickel-plated metal crossguards. The lower crossguard is "N.P.E.A. Wien-Theresianum" and "WT 21" marked. Dated "1942" to the upper crossguard.

Original olive-brown factory painted scabbard. Made of steel (magnetic). Both original screws, as well as the frog stud, are in place. The scabbard has two small dents and a fine hair crack (6 mm) on the side.

Overall matching patina.

Nicely worn in good condition.
