The letter is signed by Chief of the Personnel Department and Generalleutnant Rudolf Schmundt. Dated "Führerhauptquartier, 10. June 1944". Folded.

Wounded in the assassination of Adolf Hitler on 20. July 1944. Know as "20 July Plot". Awarded with "20 July 1944" Wound Badge in gold as well as German Cross in gold on 7. October 1944 (posthumously). He died six months after the assassination on 1.10.1944.
