About the author and other contributors

Hans J. Reichhardt, born in 1925, historian, was director of the Berlin State Archives from 1979 to 1990. Numerous publications on the history of Berlin and the National Socialist period. Hanns J. Reichhardt passed away in February 2012.

Wolfgang Schäche, born in 1948, is Professor of Building History and Architectural Theory at the TFH Berlin. His focus is on research into the history of architecture and the city as well as the preservation of monuments in the 19th and 20th centuries. Numerous publications on the architecture of the Nazi era are considered standard works of architectural history research.
