Description

Membership pin of the German Christians, Faith Movement (Hü 5105 a). On pin, un marked.

The German Christians (DC) were a heretical, racist, anti-Semitic and leader-oriented organization in German Protestantism that wanted to adapt it to the ideology of National Socialism from 1932 to 1945 .

It was founded in 1931 as a separate church party in Thuringia and in 1933 won the leadership of some regional churches in the German Evangelical Church (DEK). With its policy of equalization and the attempt to exclude Christians of Jewish origin as Jewish Christians by adopting the Aryan paragraph in the church constitution, it triggered the church struggle with other evangelical Christians. They then founded the Confessing Church in May 1934, which regarded the German Christians as heretics and excluded them from the church community.
