US Officer Sam Browne Belt

Description

U.S. Officer’s Sam Browne belt with cross strap. Name inscribed inside belt and ink stamp. Good average and used condition.

The Sam Browne belt was first approved by Pershing for American officers as a rank distinction during WW1. Later utilized between WW1 and WW2 as a standard part of the Officer’s uniform with limited use in 1940 when the army abandoned sabers and replaced with a cloth waist-belt that was sewn to the officer’s jacket. Would go nicely with an early U.S. army uniform display.
