German WW1 period time M16 helmet with original liner, chin strap and inner leather ring. The shell is "TJ66" maker and size marked. In addition, there is an ink "66" size marking to the rear of the inner shell. The lining size would be 57/58. The inner leather ring and the leather pads and originally attached and one pad is even named but hard to read: "Leutnant Jaeger" (?). The cord holding the pads is modern and should be replaced. Some cracks to the liner.
Original leather chin strap attached to correct buttons M91. Shell with full fieldgrey factory paint. Minor signs of age.
Please note that there looks to be a large size swastica painted to the front side once which was nearly entirely removed. You can still see traces.
