Waffen-SS, M40-model (2nd pattern), reversible camouflaged-smock ('Tarnhemd') as executed in the so-called: oakleave- (ie. 'Eichenlaub'-) camo-pattern as constructed from smooth-type, linen-based material.
The piece shows both its (standard-pattern) pockets having both their 'flaps' in place. As was more often observed was the right-side pocket somewhat 'torn-open' but this was period-repaired (in a somewhat crudely manner as can be seen on the pictures).
It comes without its closing-cord and misses its elastic straps (in arm-ends and waist).
The piece has still bright and vivid colours and was hardly cleaned nor washed. The entire piece was clearly used and worn and does show the signs of having been worn (it does show a some tiny and non-disturbing holes).
Simply a nice example of a moderately used M40-model 'Tarnhemd' in oakleave- (ie. 'Eichenlaub'-) camo-pattern.
