Description
Heer officers'-pattern side-cap (ie. 'Schiffchen für Offiziere') as was intended for usage by an officer who served within the 'Felgendarmerie-Truppen' (ie. field-police-troops).

The piece is executed in (smooth-type) field-grey-coloured wool and shows a (typical) brownish-silver-coloured- and 'silk-like'-type lining. The cap is totally void of any size- nor makers'-designation and has both venthole-rivets in place.

The cap shows an early-period-, silver-coloured, 'BeVo'- (ie. flatwire, early!) type-, officers'-pattern cap-eagle and metal-based (officers'-type) cocarde in place. The cap-eagle is attached by hand-stitching.  The insignia are 100% period time attached.  Next to this, does the cap show an orange-red- (ie. 'orangeroter') coloured 'Soutache-Winkel' period-attached (denoting that the officer who wore this cap was a field-police-officer).

The cap shows a greyish-coloured- (and linnen-based) sweatband attached (which might have been period-replaced).

The side-cap comes in a moderately used and worn condition and is void of any real damage and shows moderate age and/or wear. It is approximately 56/57 cms. sized and will with certainty fit a mannequins'-head.
