Description

Document and photo grouping of German Cross in gold recipient Oberfeldwebel Georg Petz. Petz served as the air gunner of night fighter ace Martin Drewes. Petz served with Zerstörergeschwader 76 (Haifischgeschwader), 9. and 7./NJG 3 and 11. and III./NJG 1. II./ZG 76 was later transformed into III./NJG 3 and Petz would have sent there the same time.

7./Nachtjagdgeschwader 3 issued document confirming that Petz is of "deutschblütiger Abstammung". Signed by Martin Drewes. 18.6.1943 dated.

1.7.1945 issued document signed by Martin Drewes confirming all promotions, units, awards, 96 missions and the participation of 43 enemy kills. DIN A4 size. Issued by III./Nachtjagdgeschwader 1. Folded several times.

Certificate to the Air Gunner Badge. 29.4.1944 issued to Feldwebel Georg Petz. Cut in size to the top. Folded.

3. Jagddivision (1a) letter sent on 15.7.1944 to Petz congratulation him for the awarding of the German Cross in gold. Original ink signature of an officer called "Hauptmann". Folded twice.

Blue "Militär-Bordmechaniker-Schein" issued by IV/NJG 1. Signed by Hauptmann and group commander Hauptmann Jabs (night fighter ace). Issued on 9.11.1943.
Originally attached photograph. Modern tape to the side.

1962 issued dirver's license with photograph. "Gemeinschaft der Jagdflieger" ID. 1985 issued. 1930 issued "Arbeitsbuch".

POW release document issued on 23.7.1945.

Wartime "Neue Haifisch-Lieder" unit song book of his Nachtjagdgruppe.

-

Fanstic photographs of his time at Zerstörergeschwader 76 (Haifischgeschwader). The photos show many aircrafts with their shark painting to the front. Photos show Hauptmann Nacke, Major Groth, Oberleutnant Jabs, Herget, Groth and others. There is a nice photo of Hacke waring his Knight's Cross (Kommander of II./ZG 76 and later III./NJG3).

Four original photographs of Erich Handke. Two of them show Handke with Petz. Handke was Martin Drewes radio gunner. He wears his night fighter Squadron Clasp in gold and his German Cross on the photos. One replica photograph of him comes with a postwar autograph. There are nice photographs of Petz himself. One shows him with his night fighter Squadron Clasp. Other night fighter photos are part of this grouping. Certainly comrades of his unit.

34 photos in total.

-

Part of this grouping of photocopies of his comrade Kurt Bundrock (Knight's Cross recipient of NJG 1).
