There is an interesting sidenote on the document. A collector once wrote a letter to Drewes in the 1990s who lift in Brasil. He told him he would open a museum on German Jäger and asked for a donation. Drewes shipped this certificate for free and was informed shortly after that it is now offered at a dealer's website.

Our consignor has bought it from the dealer and told Drewes. He was very disappointed but happy at the same time, that the document now found a good home. Drewes stated that he has complained at the "Adjutant" of the Geschwader after receiving this document since it is a "Jäger" and not a "Nachtjäger" pattern. He received a new "Nachtjäger" example but did not have to return the "Jäger" example which is the reason he got two certificates for the gold Squadron Clasp.

All these information are out of a 12.9.1999 dated letter from Drewes to our consignor. It will be shipped with this lot.
