Description

Untouched leather spike helmet with brass fittings worn by a member of the "Strelitzer" bataillon of the Mecklenburg Grenadier-Regiments Nr. 89. Around 1870.

A very early and absolutely untouched helmet.

Non-removable spike on bottom plate. High dome. No rear spine as per the M1867 regulations.

Front visor with reinforcement bar. Helmet "Strelitzer Stern" front badge attached with the original screws. Chain attached with the correct screws. "Landeskokarde" in place with original color.

Leather liner in matching condition. Markings. No extra holes.

Clearly untouched helmet with dark patina. Rare!
