Description

M1886 leather spike helmet for a soldier serving with Dragonerregiment 91. Tombak fittings. Dragoon eagle with separately attached "Oldenburg" crest with star. Cross base with correct prongs. Removable spike. Matching patina.

Chain attached to buttons M91.Including the correct "Reichskokarde" and the Oldenburg "Landeskokarde". Leather lining with barely readable maker's mark. "1914" dated.

Metal reinforcement bar to the front visor missing.

Signs of age and use. Patina. Condition 3. Rare.
