Prussia - M1915 shako Jäger-Bataillon Nr.10 - EM/NCO

Description

Prussian M1915 leather shako worn by an EM/NCO of (Hannoversches) Jäger-Bataillon Nr.10, based in Goslar. Complete with its originally attached iron insignia. Fieldgrey painted eagle holding a bandeau "Waterloo-Peninsula-Venta del Pozo". Black painted ventilation holes to both sides.

Leather chin strap attached to correct buttons M91 which come with original fieldgrey paint. The shako comes with both EM type cockade instead of a "Feldzeichen" cockade. Typical leather lining.  "B.A.V." depots markings as well as a "1916" date stamp. 

Size 58.

Fieldgrey camo cloth cover with correct holes to fit the shako. Cover and shako look to be absolutely matching and were worn together. 

Note: (Hannoversches) Jäger-Bataillon Nr.10 and its reserve batallion as well as Reserve-Jäger-Bataillon 14 belonged to Jäger-Regiment 2 of the "Deutsche Alpenkorps" from 1915!

Feldgrauer Überzug mit Einstecköffung;

Der Tschako wurde offenbar jahrzehntelang auf dem Kopf stehend zusammen mit dem Überzug gelagert: Auf dem Überzug hat sich der Adler abgezeichnet und auf dem Korpus der der kopfunter hängende Sturmriemen!

Zusammengehöriges Ensemble, zwar mit deutlichen Trage- und Alterungsspuren, aber: Unberührter Originalzustand!

Das Bataillon gehörte ab 1915 mit seinem Reservebataillon und dem Reserve-Jäger-Bataillon 14 zum Jägerregiment 2 des Deutschen Alpenkorps!
