Description

Leather WW1 period time German pilot's crash helmet. A so-called "Roold" pattern. Twice "Heinrich Schmaldt / Leeste 230 / b. Bremen" maker marked to the lining. A French-designed helmet worn by French pilots, however, also worn by Germans and even manufactured by German companies as proofed by the German maker mark.

The leather helmet comes with typical signs of age but generally is in good condition. Signs of war.
