Prussia - M1871 Garde-Fußtruppen spike helmet - EM/NCO

Description

A privately purchased leather helmet with tombak fittings (Garde eagle) and both visors with reinforcement bars. Around 1890.

Spike plate with spike. Flat chinscales attached to rosettes. Prussian "Land" cockade missing. "Reich" cockade not missing since it not established before 1897.

Typical depot issued leather lining. Size "57" marked.

An ooriginal example with signs of age and wear. Rest of the original gilding in place.
