Confidential war diary/report of Konteradmiral Schmundt to "Operation Weserübung" for the use of the Kriegsmarine and the army units as commander of the reconnaissance forces (B.d.A.) covering the period from Aril 1st-15th, 1940.

This documentation/war diary contains the entire events including the issue of order to the "Führer", instruction of commanders, combat reports and final evaluation. It includes about 110 pages including various attachments, often signed by Admiral Schmundt and provided with comments and corrections, as well as several card supplements with markings of the course, battles etc.. Also included are comments of the comments of Oberbefehlshaber der Marine, Großadmiral Raeder, in green. Important document for the occupation of Norway but also the resistance of the Norwegians. The B.d.A. led on the cruiser "COLOGNE" warship group 3 (Bergen) at the Operation "Weserübung". The order was to bring about 1900 man army troops and naval artillery units to Bergen. The combat group reached the entrance to Bergen unmolested in the protection of dense fog. When Norway's external fire was extinguished at 9:00 am on April 9, 1940, it was clear to Schmundt (see war diary) that the element of surprise was lost. At 5:15, the band entered the Byfjord and entered the area of action of the coastal batteries near Kvarven. The Artillerieschulschiff "Bremse" and the light cruiser "Königsberg" were hit, on the speedboat escort, Carl Peters army soldiers were killed and wounded by a hit in the mast by splinters. Bergen itself could be occupied without a fight; soon after, the coastal batteries were taken by German troops.
