A very interesting field cap from poor quality material which was certainly manufactured very late in war around 1944/45. It comes with an Edelweiss badge attached and has a rather short visor so might indeed by a proper "mountain cap" (Bergmütze) and not an M43 cap. The cap badge is a very poor quality machine-embroidered example which comes period time attached by machine. Two front buttons.
The lining looks be taken from a winter coat. It is very thick.
