Very rare and early Heer sidecap for a EM/NCO serving with Panzernachrichten troops. It rarely comes with a "zitronengelb" soutache atttached by machine.
Fine cotton lining. Zinc grommets. "1941" dated as well as size "55" marked and "Lago-Berlin" stamped. There looks to be a Panzer unit marked to the cap but it is hard to read. In addition, there are Russian inventory stamps. This cap could have been part of a theater inventory stock after the war.
The cap comes with originally attached insignia. Both are machine-woven and correctly attached by hand. Interestingly, the cap comes with a green but a black backed cockade attached which is maybe not textbook but absolutely correct like that. A lot of period time photographs show it like this.
