Description

A nicely worn Luftwaffe officer's flight blouse to Hauptmann Hartmann. A fine privately purchased example with an attached tailor's and name tag to "O. Leutnant Hartmann" by KUHN & NUPNAU MÜNCHEN. The date the tunic was made is hart to read.

Hauptmann Hartmann was a pilot decorated with the German Cross and the Combined Pilot's and Observer's Badge. There are loops for a Squadron Clasp, a German Cross in gold and an Iron Cross 1st Class. All loops show clear signs of wear. The Combined Pilot's and Observer's Badge is a very rare hand-embroidered type. The golden wreath has turned dark over the decades. Please note that a few gold bullion threads are missing.

All insignia were attached by hand. Fine silk lining. No damage. Medium size.

The tunic comes with a copy of a written statement of Johann Kummer stating that this tunic was given to him by "Oberst Erich Hartmann" in 1986. He states it came with stripped insignia. Only one shoulder board and the Pilot's Badge was attached. The statement is signed on 17.5.1992.

Please note that we decided to offer this tunic without the "Erich Hartmann" provenience.
