Description

This item belonged to the grouping of SS-Hauptsturmführer Heinrich Oelkers which was never available on the market before. It was sold by the former SS soldier and later book author of „Endkampf zwischen Mosel und Inn. XIII. SS-Armeekorps) Erich Spiwoks originally.

Spiwoks was in good contact with Oelkers which he mentioned in his book a few times. The book even shows a photo of him. Oelkers gave him all his photos, medals, documents (the book author never sold them) and his M36 chained SS dagger. Our consignor got all items straight of the book author, however, he sadly sold the M36 chained dagger in the 90s.

Oelkers started serving with Leibstandarte SS „Adolf Hitler“ pre-war, served with SS-Polizei-Division and SS-Panzergrenadier-Division „Götz von Berlichingen“. He was involved in the battles on the Rhine at the end of the war.

-

An excellent photo grouping with 96 original photos period time attached to the original album pages. The pages contain many notes and the majority of the photos is attached with small corners so the photo can be taken out to read information to the reverse.

8 photos show the commander of SS-Division "Das Reich" Paul Hausser. One shows him inside his commander's SdKfZ. All photos were taken in 1942/43 during the Russian Campaign. One photo shows Gneraloberst Guderian next to SS-Obersturmbannführer Kumm. Many vehicles show the "Das Reich" emblem. There are photos taken in Charkow, photos of Knight's Cross recepients, photos taken South of Smolensk, one photo of General von Wittinghoff, photos of SS soldiers were camo uniforms and a lot more.

One page is titled "Es geht wieder nach Russland zur Entsetzung Stalingrads". It shows 8 photos.

Note: These photos also came of the book author Erich Spiwoks who collected photos for his book. The photos belonged to a "Das Reich" member who must have survived within XIII. SS-Armeekorps later. The photo did not belong to SS-Hauptsturmführer Oelkers in our opinion.
