Description

Grouping to SS-Hauptsturmführer Heinrich Oelkers which was never available on the market before. It was sold by the former SS soldier and later book author of „Endkampf zwischen Mosel und Inn. XIII. SS-Armeekorps) Erich Spiwoks originally.

Spiwoks was in good contact with Oelkers which he mentioned in his book a few times. The book even shows a photo of him. Oelkers gave him all his photos, medals, documents (the book author never sold them) and his M36 chained SS dagger. Our consignor got all items straight of the book author, however, he sadly sold the M36 chained dagger in the 90s.

Oelkers started serving with Leibstandarte SS „Adolf Hitler“ pre-war, served with SS-Polizei-Division and SS-Panzergrenadier-Division „Götz von Berlichingen“. He was involved in the battles on the Rhine at the end of the war.

Please see other items to Oelkers part of this auction.

Photos:

Personal photo album of Oelkers which he set up period time. Most probably in 1943. It starts with several photo cards of famous Knight's Cross recipients and he noted the the years they were killed. A few cards - for example, the card of Afrikakorps General von Crüwell - he noted "In engl. Gefangenschaft" (currently in British prisonship). In fact, von Crüwell was captured on 29. Mai 1942.

Original photo album with national eagle to the front side. "Deutsche Männer" noted to the inner cover as well as a handwritten "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" on parchment. 27 original Knight's Cross winner's cards.

Original photos of parades of Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler including original photo of the commander Sepp Dietrich. The first photos might have been taken after the Sudetenland Campaign in Prague. A great photo of the "Adolf Hitler" standard. Photos of the LSSAH barracks at Lichterfelde. Three "Willrich" propaganda postcards.

A photo of Adolf Hitler shaking hands with Oelkers!  One photo taken at the "Gautreffen Stettin" in 1938 showing Adofl Hitler standing in his car. Photos taken in Paris.

Since Oelkers has survived the war he would have added photo to the end of the album postwar. In fact, two photos are postwar (marked on the picture).

32 original postcards and 31 photos in total. Good condition.

Single large size photograph of Oelkers. 13cm x 18cm.

Medals:

Personal medals of Oelkers. 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class (nicely worn, unmarked), East Medal with ribbon and Orth marked package (Medal ring unmarked), 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class (unmarked), Wound Badge in black (100 marked), Infantry Assault in silver (R.S.S. marked, missing set-up).

Documents:

A 12.10.44 dated transcription of the recognition certificate issued by "Der Kommandierende General des XII. SS-A.K." (Curt von Gottberg) to Oelkers as "Kommandeur des SS-Batillons Oelkers". It is signed by an SS-Untersturmführer.

Curt von Gottberg praises Oelker's exemplary leadership and support of his battalion building a bridge head near kasteel Doorwerth on 1.10.1944.
DIN A4 size. Folded twice.

A period time transcription of a 26.11.1944 dated telegram ordering SS-Hauptsturmstührer Oelkers to the "Führerreserve" and the "17. Division" (17. SS-Panzergrenadier-Division „Götz von Berlichingen“). Oelkers was trained at the "SS-Unterführerschule Arnheim" at that time which was closed in November. Signed by an SS-Obersturmführer.
DIN A4 size. Folded several times.
