Description

Nice photo grouping showing Gebirgsjäger Generaloberst Dietl in Norway with other Gebirgsjäger Officer's. On most of the photos, you can see Dietl wearing his ultrarare "Narvik Honor Dagger". It was given to him by the Kriegsmarine for his merits at the "Battle of Narvik". Outnumbered by British, French and Polish forces, his skillful defense utilized ammunitions, food, and sailors (re-drafted as infantrymen) from the sunken ship. This gained him the nickname "The hero of Narvik".

Size: 14.5x10.5cm

Photos showing Dietl with that dagger are very hard to find.
