Description

Porcelain sculpture "Das Licht" by Professor Josef Thorak. Around 1950. It shows an undressed young woman. "Rosenthal Germany" maker marked. Model number "5113". Furthermore "Prof. Thorak" and "Das Licht" marked.

No chipping or repairs.

Professor Josef Thorak (1889-1952) was a famous Austrian-German sculptor. During the Third Reich, he created many "important" sculptures by order of the NS regime. From 1937 until 1944 his works of art were continuously exhibited at the "Haus der Kunst" in Munich.
