Bavaria M10 field tunic for a Reichswehr officer


Description

A privately purchased WW1 period time M10 field tunic which was modified in 1919 by the owner to serve as a Pionier Leutnant with the "Vorläufige Reichswehr". A couple of things were modified like change the collar, removing the cuffs, adding pockets etc..

A privately purchased example tailored by "Kuhn & Nupnau" from cord. Machine-attached tailor's label to the brown cotton lining. A silk inner protection collar. 

About 12cm of the vertical central back seam have opened near the collar. It will be easy to close. 

There is one originally attached pair of loops for one award (one loop damage) and another pair for a field ribbon bar. All buttons show nearly full original field color and come period time attached. Two shoulder board buttons are missing. Clear shadow of removed slim shoulder boards. The loops are still there. There are shadows of formally attached rings to both sleeves as well indivating his Leutnant rank.

Tailored from cord. No moth damage. Fieldgrey gabardine collar with black piping.
