Description

Grouping to Luftwaffe Oberfeldwebel Rudolf Bechstädt. He served as radio operator (Bordfunker) with Kampfgeschwader 200 and Kampfgeschwader 1 "Hindenburg". German Cross in gold on 4.9.1942 and Luftwaffe Honor Goblet on 20.4.1942.

Documents & ID cards:

Wehrpass issued on 1. November 1938. Original attached photo. His units are listed on pages 12 and 13. Listed awards: Luftwaffe Long Service Awards for 4 years, 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with swords, 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class, Squadron Clasp for Kampflieger in bronze, Squadron Clasp for Kampflieger in silver, Squadron Clasp for Kampflieger in gold, Luftwaffe Honor Goblet, East Medal, Wound Badge in black, German Cross in gold, Demjansk Shield and Squadron Clasp for Kampflieger in gold with "200" (mission) pendant. Noted on page 23, 26 and 27. Campaign list from 17.10.1940 until 26.2.1945. 254 recorded "Feindflüge" combat missions flown on He111 and Ju88. Listed on page 32 and 33. The swastika of the front cover was removed as well as two holes.

Fliegerhorst Insterburg ID card. Issued on 10.10.1941. Original attached photo. Hand-signed by an Oberleutnant.

Luftwaffe flight book "Flugbuch" from 11.10.1937 until 11.4.1943. 511 recorded flights. Confirmed by a Leutnant on 16.08.1943.

Luftwaffe achievement book "Leistungsbuch" from 19.10.1940 until 28.7.1944. 254 recorded "Feindflüge" combat missions. Confirmed by a Leutnant. In contrast to the flight book, only combat missions were listed in the achievement book.

German Cross in gold on blue Luftwaffe cloth. Cloth type. Black paper backing. Taken off a tunic. 

Squadron Clasp for Kampfflieger in gold. Tombak. No maker's mark.

Demjansk Shield on blue-grey Luftwaffe cloth. Iron type. Full prongs. Back-plate in place. Original paper backing.

1939 Iron Cross 1st Class. Three-part construction. Iron core. Original black paint. 

1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with swords. Without ribbon.

Wound Badge in black. Brass.

Certificates:

Certificate to Squadron Clasp in Gold with "200" (mission) pendant. Issued on 20. December 1944. Hand-signed by an Oberstleutnant. Folded once.

Photos:

Nine period time photos. Including a nice portrait photo of a Luftwaffe German Cross in gold winner (this photo does not show Rudolf Bechstädt). Postcard format.

Miscellaneous:

Aluminium tag. "OFW BECHSTÄDT L.S.T" stamped.

A piece of paper with Rudolf's address.

Third Reich workbook "Arbeitsbuch", one driver's license as well as one income-tax card. These three documents are not from Ofw. Bechstädt but come from the same source.
