Description

Consigned by the grandson and never available on the market before!

Waldemar von Fischer (1189 - 1974) served as a WW1 u-boat commander during WWI and as chief of staff of the WWII shipyards St. Nazaire and La Rochelle during WWII. He became Danish Naval Commander Islands from August 1944 until the end of the war.

His WWI U-Boot commands were: 
UB 33 - 1.2.1917 - 21.3.1917 
UC 60 - 25.6.1917 - 30.11.1917 
UB 38 - 6.12.1917 - 24.12.1917 
UB 126 - 20.4.1918 - 11.11.1918

Von Fischer has sunk four steamers during WWI: Est, Ottokar, Maja, Laila. 5461 BRT in total. Please see other items at auction.

A very nice lapel miniature chain purchased by Godet, Berlin. Maker marked to the gilt button. All miniatures are 16mm ones. The U-Boot Badge is marked with half-moon and crown and is "900" silver stamped.
