Description

A rare privately purchased "South Front" field tunic for a Gebirgsjäger Oberfeldwebel. According to two award loops to the left breast pocket, he was a recipient of the German Cross in gold. This tunic would have been worn in Italy or Greece.

Tailored from green canvas and with all medals still on the tunic apart from his German Cross in gold.

A nicely worn bronze Close Combat Clasp. Unmarked example with a nice bronze finish. A three-place ribbon bar with German-Italian Campaign Medal, Austria and Sudetenland Medal.

Unmarked 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class. L22 maker marked Wound Badge in silver. A hollow constructed Infantry Assault Badge in silver. It came with cracks to the wreath already and was unfortunately damaged after photographing. So it will arrive in two pieces when ordering!

Silvered NARVIK shield on cloth backing machine-attached to the left sleeve.

Dark "M36 style" tunic collar with period time machine-attached NCO tress and tabs. Machine-attached silver machine-woven officer's breast eagle. Slip-on shoulder boards (slightly moth damaged). Early style Oberfeldwebel boards with slight moth damage. Hand-attached machine-woven Edelweiss sleeve badge.

A nicely worn tunic of an unknown Gebirgsjäger Afrika veteran and German Cross in gold recipient.
