VIEW DESCRIPTION

Document grouping to SS-Obersturmführer Gerhard Maiwald serving with Allgemeine-SS and Leibstandarte-SS "Adolf Hitler". He joined the Allgemeine-SS in 1933 and the SS-Verfügungstruppe "LSSAH" in 1934. For his membership in the SS, he was sentenced to 3 months in prison after the war.

Certificate to 1939 War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords. Issued on 1.9.1942. Signed by SS-Obergruppenführer and General der Waffen-SS Sepp Dietrich (Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds winner). Some holes.
