Ewald Gehrt was a member of the 8./Gr. Rgt. 985. He was promoted to Obergefreiter October 1, 1942.

He received the the Wound Badge in Black on March 11, 1942, Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1939, August 14, 1942, Infantry Assault Badge on August 27, 1942, East Medal on July 25, 1942, the Wound Badge in Silver on August 3, 1943, and the Wound Badge in Gold on March 19, 1945 (Photokopie of the document is present).

Comes also with his original dog tag and what seems to be a Russian Surender Pass.
