Description

Set of badges to promote the deportation of mothers and children to the country site. One badge is made from brass to assists mother (42.4 mm), the other from copper to support children (32.6 mm). Both on safety pins.

The term Kinderlandverschickung (KLV) was used before the Second World War exclusively for the convalescent deportation of children. Today, this keyword usually refers to the extended land deportation for children, in which, from October 1940, school children and mothers with small children from German cities threatened by air warfare were accommodated in less endangered areas for a longer period of time. The "Reichsdienststelle KLV" evacuated probably more than 2,000,000 children by the end of the war and cared for probably 850,000 schoolchildren between the ages of 10 and 14, but also older people in KLV camps.
