Description

A very early Kavallerie visor cap! Probably amongst the earliest ones you can find! It was made in 1935, the year the Wehrmacht was found.

The cap comes with typical "goldgelb" piping for cavlry troops. There is a lovely set of early tombak insignia attached with matching patina.

A period time "Gauzeitung Moselland" newspaper was put underneath the sweat-band to adjust the size of the cap. There are rare unit markings to the inside of the sweat-band confirming the unit the owner has served with: "St./K.R.6" "St.Schwd. I" = Stabsschwadron I. Kavallerie-Regiment 6.

The cap is twice maker marked and twice 1935 dated.

Typical orange color linen water-resistant lining. Cellluloid diamond (minor bits to the rimm missing). Size 57 marked.

Only minor moth damage to the reverse of the cap.

A very nice and rare example!
