Well worn M42 Heer combat helmet which received a camo sand paint to the outer shell in the field. The fieldgrey factory paint is still underneath the camo paint.
The camo paint is about 50-60%. Rust covering the rest of the shell.
Originally applied lining. Original cord. Well worn but still soft. Size "56" marked. Maker marked chin strap in good condition. Prongs of the rivets never opened and with some rust.
Named to the reverse of the shell.
The maker's mark is to the rear of the helmet but hard to read. However, you can clearly read the shell size "64".
Nice stamps to the inside of the lining: " 6 - 43" dated, Size "58" stamped, marked with the Reichsbetriebsnummer.
