VIEW DESCRIPTION

This Minesweeper War Badge is the only known example worldwide. Awarded in Tokyo on 08.02.1943 to Kriegsmarine Mechaniker-Maat Rudolf Hempel. He served on board the auxiliary cruiser "Thor".

Made from sterling silver. Gilt wreath. The back shows the serial number "40" and the mark "WIRELESS SE". Period time re-attached catch.

Slight signs of wear. A unique piece!
