Description

Wehrmacht gas mask with can to Unteroffizier Karl Grube serving with Grenadier-Regiment 914. A part of the 352. Infanterie-Division. The division defended Omaha Beach on D-Day, 6. June 1944. The research of our consignor has shown, that Karl Grube was killed in action on 7. June 1944 at Cormolain (a commune in the Normandy). Buried in the German military cemetery of Orglandes/Manche (Block 22, Reihe 2, Grab 53). The soldier fought on D-Day and died the next day!

Wehrmacht gas mask with filter. Several marks. "254" numbered. The same number you can see on the can (under the camo paint). Including the matching can. Original camo paint. "DITMAR" maker marked and "1939" dated. "Uffz. Karl Grube" named inside. Furthermore the Feldpost number "L 16053". Spare lenses in place. Full straps.
