WWI S.M. "U 35" grouping to Maat Weichler - most successful U-boat in the world!

Description

An extremely rare Kaiserliche Marine grouping to Maat Weichler serving on board S.M. Unterseeboot "U 35". It is still considered the most successful U-boat in the world today. During WWI, U 35 operated in the Mediterranean Sea and sank 224 ships for a total of 539,741 GRT.

The album comes with 76 excellent photos. Each with handwritten notes on the reverse. Shots of the commanders Lothar von Arnauld de la Perière and Waldemar Kophamel as well as of the engineers Hans Techel and Hans Fechter. Furthermore nice photos of the ship and the crew, battles at sea as well as some photos of sinking ships.

Certificate to 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 10. March 1916. Original signed by Korvettenkapitän Waldemar Kophamel.
