An early SS Service Dagger. Made by Richard Herder, Solingen.
The blade comes with the etched motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue". HERDER maker marked. Stained. The eagle and the SS roundel were removed from the black wooden handle. Nickel crossguards. "II" stamped on the back of the bottom crossguard.
Original black anodized steel scabbard with matching nickel fittings. Rust stains. No dents. All four screws in place and unopened. With the black leather hanger and belt loop.
An untouched piece with "character". Overall matching patina!
