SS sword for leaders. Made by Hermann Rath, Solingen.
Please note that Rath is not a known maker for SS leader's swords. Similar to Alcoso, which has supplied parts the Staatsbeamter dagger to WKC and Höller, Rath has manufactured their blades only. Rath must have taken other company's parts for the handle and scabbard.
The blade shows the SS runes and the maker's mark of Rath Solingen. Slightly stained as well as pitting on the tip. A blackened wooden handle with originally inserted SS emblem and intact wire wrapping. Nickel-plated iron fittings. "SS" marked on the bottom of the crossguard. Including the SS portepee.
Original black factory-painted steel scabbard with nickel-plated iron fittings. No dents. Both screws in position. Also, SS marked to the throat.
