VIEW DESCRIPTION

An early SS Service Dagger.

The blade shows the etched motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" on the front. "RICH.ABR.HERDER SOLINGEN" maker marked on the back. Slight stains on both sides.

Black wooden handle with inlaid SS roundel and eagle. The handle has a chip above the SS roundel and a fine stress crack on each side. Stamped "I" on the lower crossguard. Early nickel fittings. Steel scabbard comes with the original black finish. Rust stains on both sides. All four screws are in position. The ball has a dent.

Including the black leather hanger. "A" (Assmann) maker marked and "DRGM" marked to the snap clip. Fully working.

A nicely worn dagger with "character".
