Description

Busby for Leibgarde-Husaren-Regiment Potsdam, about 1900,

Worn by Herzog Ernst Günther von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, the brother-in-law of Kaiser Wilhelm II.
The duke was General of the Cavalry and  General "á la suíte" of the Leibgarde-Husaren-Regiment.
Made of brown otter fur, the official material until 1912. The front shows a silvered Gardestern with enameled, multi-piece center.
Prussian field sign. Arched scale chains made of brass with Reichs cockade. Fine leather sweatband with impressed maker's mark. White silk lining with golden stiched monogram "E" under the crown.
Red Colback.
The sealed proof of origin is fastened at one lanyard eye. The lanyard and the parade nozzle are missing.

High-quality leather case with a nicely elaborated ducal metal weapon and ducal paper label.
