Mark I tanker's cruise helmet

Description

Mark I "Brodie" helmet for a British tank crew soldier. A "cruise" helmet with the 2nd model cruise visor system attached.

Originally tank crews were issued with the leather helmet and the removable face visor they then fitted these chain mail visors invented by an army doctor Richard Cruise to protect the tank crews and others from shell splinters, they went on later in WW1 to produce the MK II face veil which was spring mounted on the helmet, this is the 1st model.

Overpainted with black color. Including the chin straß and a almost loose lining.
