M17 helmet. An Austrian helmet type of WW1. Very often re-issued after 1938 to various branches. This example was re-issued to police troops.
Shell with period time attached leather liner. Typically for an M17 pattern, the pads come with iron rings. Old cord.
Correct leather chin strap. Old old repair to one side.
Typically, the helmet was overpainted before re-issuing. The shell show nearly full factory paint which is however covered with light rust.
Decals: Both decals in place. Swastika decal about 70%. The eagle decal is about 50%. Two small holes were drilled to this area. The helmet might have a metal decal applied once as well.
