WWI Flieger-Abt.32 pilot's photo album (photo of Immelmann's funeral)

Description

An excellent photo album to WWI pilot Alfred Schott who has served with Fliegerabteilung 32. Awarded with the Imperial German Pilot's Badge, the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class, and the Württemberg Military Merit Medal in Gold. Excellent photos of him and his comrades of the "Fliegertruppe". Nice pictures their air force awards. Including nearly all members of the Fliegerabteilung 32 between 1915 and 1916. Also many photos of Schott's plane.

Shots of the front, destroyed buildings, and shot-down aircraft, as well as photos of the funeral of Leutnant Lönhold and Uffz. Patzig. Photos of a British aircraft shot down by Leutnant Max Immelmann. Furthermore photos of the Pour le Mèrit winners Leutnant Leffers and Max Ritter von Mulzer. Ritter von Mulzer was the first Bavarian pilot being awarded with the Pour le Mèrit.

Photo of a sash and wreath bucked off by a British aircraft to commemorate Leutnant Max Immelmann's death. The photos to the wreath still in the air and pictures of the actual hand-written letter "On his Majesty's Service": "To the memory of Lieutenant Immelmann our brave and chivalrous opponent from the British Royal Flying Corps".

Numerous handwritten notes by Alfred Schott inside.

In total: 164 photos.
