Description

Heer M42 field tunic. Typically designed without vertical pocket bars but pocket flaps still constructed like the earlier M36, M40 and M41 tunics. As an M41 pattern, the M42 also comes with six buttons.

Breast eagle: machine-embroidered. EM/NCO pattern. Period time attached by hand.
Collar tabs: EM/NCO. Machine-woven. Original attached by machine
Shoulder boards: Early dark green EM boards with "gelbgold" piping. Kavallerie.
Sleeve badge: Obergefreiter rank badge. One small hole. Attached by hand.

Buttons: All buttons complete and period time attached.
Lining: fine silk
Markings: depot marked and size stamped.

This tunic was period time modified by a tailor due to the personal taste of the owner. Soldiers preferred the more elegant M36 style featuring a dark green collar, dark green insignia and a vertical pocket bar. All modifications were executed period time and definitely prior 1945.
Modifications like these are quite common and give this tunic a unique touch.

Slightly shortened. No moth damage!
A nice tunic untouched since 1945 with all insignia period time applied!
