A German M40 helmet. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by Heer
Paint: Original factory paint. Around 60% still present. Mino rust and signs of wear and age. Well worn.
Decals: The eagle decal is about 60%.
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Still soft but also some cracks to the top were it is not too flexible anymore. Original cord. 56 size stamped.
The liner was re-attached. The rivets look to be postwar.
