Personal Franco-Prussian War 1870 diary of a German officer


Description

Small pocket-size notebook used by a German officer to document his time at the Franco-Prussian War in 1870/71. An extremely rare piece of history that was never available on the market before!

There are 36 hand-written pages with a lot of information on his unit. There are sketches of maps or campaigns! Numbers and facts about his men.

Towards the end of the book, there are another 62 hand-written pages, the actual war diary. It begins with "Tagebuch vom 26. Juli 1870 Feldzug gegen Frankreich" (diary from 26.7.1870 campaign against France. The last entry dates 27.3.1871. His handwriting is fairly easy to read.

There are another 15 pages with general notes. Some relate to his time as an officer.
